Bangladesh closed its border with India twice on Sunday within the wake of a pointy rise in coronavirus cases within the neighboring country.
“For now, we are closing this (border) for passengers,”
“Bangladesh has taken this decision considering the rapid increase in coronavirus infections in India,” he added.
He said land routes for people from neighboring countries would be closed for 2 weeks but freight vehicles would be allowed to maneuver.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told Kalerkantha, “The higher authorities have decided to shut the border for 2 weeks. The land route with India will remain closed.”
COVID-19 Situation The border has been closed since day because of the resumption of suspended flights between the 2 countries.
