On the phone, Erdogan said the world community should send a strong message against Israel’s reckless attack. The Turkish president also stressed the need for common dialogue and action in the Muslim world to end Israeli violence.
The two leaders also mentioned bilateral relations during their talks, the statement said.
Al-Jazeera reports that Israel has continued its violence in Gaza for the seventh day in a row. Airstrikes on Sunday killed 42 Palestinians. Numerous were injured. At least two residential buildings were blown up on the day.
Bloody clashes that began on Monday (May 10th) have so far killed 18 people, including 55 children, in Gaza. At least 1,200 people were injured. Ten people, including two children, were killed in Israel.
Incidentally, during the Arab-Israeli war in 1967, Israel occupied East Jerusalem and annexed the entire city in 1960. However, their move was never recognized by the international community.
