Extreme storms and hailstorms have killed at least 11 people in China. Hundreds were also injured.

The hailstorm hit Nantong City on Friday (April 30) evening.

More than 3,000 residents of Nantong City in China’s eastern Jiangsu Province have already been evacuated, according to the BBC.

At the time of the disaster, the wind speed was about 120 kilometers per hour in the riverine areas and about 180 kilometers per hour in the coastal areas. At that time, 11 fishermen died when their fishing boat capsized in the sea.

Meanwhile, traffic services in the city are being disrupted due to storms and hailstorms. It was also reported that the entire city was without electricity overnight.
