This year will not the Asia Cup. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has decided to cancel the Asia Cup due to Corona. The Asia Cup was scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka last year.

The last time the Asia Cup was held in the 50-over format was in 2018, but it was postponed to June this year due to Corona. However, the Asia Cup is not being held in June this year.

Ashley de Silva, chief executive of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, said cricket had been shut down due to the coronavirus. International cricket teams have a busy schedule for the next two years.

However, in response to a question on whether there is a possibility of hosting the Asia Cup at once, Ashley de Silva said that the Asia Cup may be held after the 2023 World Cup due to the busy schedule of international teams.

The Sri Lankan team is currently in Bangladesh to play a three-match ODI series. The series will start on May 23.
